CVE-2021-27877Veritas Backup Exec — an obsolete login still accepted

Backup Exec kept accepting a legacy authentication scheme that current versions no longer use, so an attacker who reaches an agent over the network logs in with it and runs privileged commands. Fixed in 21.2.

YOUR NEXT MOVE

Upgrade Backup Exec to 21.2 or later. The fix is that the obsolete scheme is finally refused, so nothing short of the upgrade closes this one.
