CVE-2023-27532Veeam Backup — the credential store answers to anyone

A component of Veeam Backup & Replication hands out the encrypted credentials held in its configuration database without asking who is calling. Those credentials open the backup infrastructure hosts, which is exactly what ransomware crews want.

YOUR NEXT MOVE

Install the Veeam fix, then rotate every credential the backup server held — the accounts stored there are usually the most privileged ones in the estate.
