CVE-2025-68686Fortinet FortiOS — information exposure bypasses symlink persistence fix

Fortinet FortiOS (6.4 through 7.6.1 branches) lets a remote, unauthenticated attacker send crafted web (HTTP) requests to get around the fix for a symbolic-link persistence trick and read sensitive data. It only helps an attacker who already compromised the device's filesystem.

YOUR NEXT MOVE

Apply Fortinet's FG-IR-25-934 mitigations, treat exposed FortiOS devices as possibly compromised, and check their filesystems for planted symbolic links.
