CVE-2025-48384Git — carriage return in config leads a clone astray

Git strips a trailing carriage return when reading a configuration value but does not quote it when writing one, so a crafted repository can make a clone write files where the user never intended and then run them.

YOUR NEXT MOVE

Upgrade Git to a patched release now; on build systems that clone untrusted repositories, patch first and review what recent clones wrote to disk.
