CVE-2024-20399Cisco Nexus switches — command injection from the console

Configuration commands in Cisco's switch software (NX-OS) do not check their arguments, so an administrator escapes the command line and runs code as root on the system underneath. Some Nexus families already grant that shell and gain nothing new.

YOUR NEXT MOVE

Install the fixed release named in the Cisco advisory, and treat switch administrator credentials as keys to the underlying operating system, because that is what they are.
