CVE-2023-29552Service Location Protocol — a reflector for flooding

The service location protocol (SLP) lets an unauthenticated attacker register services of their own, and spoofed traffic then bounces off the service with a large amplification factor. The victim is whoever the traffic is addressed to.

YOUR NEXT MOVE

Block the service location protocol at the network edge and stop the service on hosts that do not need it. This is a protocol design issue, so no vendor patch closes it.
