CVE-2023-20269Cisco firewalls — the remote access door left ajar

The remote access feature in Cisco's firewall software (ASA and FTD) shares its authentication handling with the management and site-to-site features, so an attacker can grind credentials against a default connection profile. Ransomware crews used it.

YOUR NEXT MOVE

Install the Cisco update, or apply the advisory's workaround for default connection profiles, and require a second factor on every remote access account.
